22nd September 2008 Diablo Shores.

Karina Nowlan and Will Asher win at the MasterCraft Pro Water Ski Tour at Diablo Shores.

Will beat Jeff Rodgers in the head to head final. High scores as many of the men scored 2.00 @ 10.25m during the event and Will achieving 5.00 @ 10.25m in the first round.

But the biggest news of the week end was the performance by Karina Nowlan scoring 1.00 @ 10.25m. This score equals the world record for ladies. The record was first set some 12 years ago by Kristi Overton-Johnson.

Massive jump of 56.5m from Genadi Guralia from Georgia in Senior Men 1 to take the gold and give him the overall title from Jean-Christophe Fortamps and Danny Budd.

We will try and give you an update on the skiing each day. If we get live results going the location will be posted here. First day action saw slalom from the Senior 2 group. Thierry Malhomme and Andy Mapple both scored 1.00 @ 10.25m to tie the lead with Mike Morgan in tirad with 5.00 @ 10.75m.

25th August 2008 London Night Jump at Liquid Leisure.

The night jump final proved to be an incredible event with another new winner in Canadian Ryan Dodd. Conditions appeared to be perfect for jumping in the dark.

There was very little wind and the arena was lit up just right. Ryan went out early in the final to set a bench mark 68.3m. This proved way too much for Jaret and Jason to match. Freddy Krueger, who has historically not had a great deal of success at this event, was last off the dock in the final.

Freddys first jump was 68.2m making it look like it was going to be his event. Even with three quality jumps Freddy still could not catch Ryan. A truly worthy winner.

24th August 2008 The Ski Full Stretch Princes Pro-Am.

With the Pro-Am first round on Saturday by far the best conditions, it produced the best results which saw Will Asher the leader from Chris Parish.

Naturally the Head to Head final saw both Will and Chris progress to the final. Chris set the mark of 2.5 @ 10.75m and Will who was on form all week end ran the pass to take the title.

Last years winner Nick Parsons went out to Jamie Beauchesne who had a spectacular crash which saw his double boot snap off and the ski go shooting towards the boat as he rounded buoy four.

Keen to keep her overall hopes alive Natalia Berdnikova leads the jump with 53.9m.

In the mens slalom Will Asher finds himself at the top of the leaderboard with Adam Sedlmajer both scoring 3.00 @ 10.75m. A 12 way tie on 3.00 @ 11.25m saw exactly a quarter of the field take part in a run off for the remaining final places.

Mens jump was a repeat of last year with British skiers taking all three top places and looking favourite for all three medals.

On Sunday the 24th of August the worlds best waterski jumpers will be visiting Datchet, near Windsor pushing the boundries of extreme action in a battle on the water for the cash prize of $15,000 and the 2008 London Night Jump title.

These guy's will approach a 6 foot ramp at speeds of up to 70mph, soaring through the air and landing amazing distances of around 70meters.

Launching off a 6ft ramp at 70mph in broad daylight is one thing, but doing it at night is just EXTREME!

11th August 2008

My apologies for the inactivity on these pages. As many of you know Planetwaterski is a hobby for me which I started messing with way back in 1999. Work commitments have prevented me from keeping it up dated recently. Normal service will now resume with some superb coverage of events over the next two months.

First up will be the EAME Championships from Fagersta in Sweden, then the Pro-Am from Princess in London, evening updates of the pro rounds and then Sunday, live scores from the London Night Jump.

Then in September, daily coverage from the World Senior Trophy from Sesena in Spain.
